Mr. Michael Todd Johnson, age 50, a life-long resident of Troup County, passed away on May 9, 2020. Todd was born on September 24, 1969 in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Troup High School and served as a Deputy for the Troup County Sheriff’s Office for a number of years. A portion of his service during that time was as the School Resource Officer for Callaway High School. Most recently, he was a Lab Manager for Cascade Services. His mother, Juanita Ford Davis and his sister, Michelle Mock preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Shelby Johnson and Maggie Johnson; aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends. Due to COVID19 restrictions, a service celebrating his life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family will be at the home of Eddy and Christy Lumpkin, 5006 Old West Point Road, LaGrange. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at Higgins LaGrange Chapel, 706-884-7117.

My Associates and I met Todd through his work. He came to our facility to train us on lab equipment and we all immediately took a liking to him. I liked him so much that I invited him to stay over at my house instead of his hotel. Later we all approached him about joining our company and working with us. We are deeply saddened to hear this in many levels. Great great person.

One of the nicest people that you could ever meet or befriend. I first met him at a Callaway football game. A great man, father, friend & "brother" that will be sorely missed but never forgotten. My condolences go out to Michael's family and friends. Until we meet again "brother!!" I love you

Todd always stood like a tree over me. It is only fitting to plant a tree in his memory so he can continue to be that tree here on earth.
