Obituary

Mr. Jerry Hill “Cowboy” Dean passed away on August 4, 2020. Mr. Dean was born on May 17, 1938 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late William Levis Dean, Sr. and Willie Hill Dean. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Piedmont Mechanical. He was a former member of Faith Baptist Church and was currently attending Baptist Tabernacle as long as his health allowed.

Mr. Dean is survived by his wife, Hazel Burrell Dean; children, Sharon McClure and Randy McClure; four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Jimmy McMillian and Rev. Charles Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow at the Restlawn Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm at Baptist Tabernacle for a time of visitation. COVID-19 health guidelines will be honored and the church request mask to be worn at both events. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginslagrangechapel.com.

I was so sorry to hear of Jerry's illness over the past few years after having known Cowboy for the past 40 years as one of the three 1938 PMI age group. He introduced me and my son to the no see-u-ms in Louisville, Ga. in 1980 and showed us how to live with the pesky gnats. Bruce Dannelly
