Obituary for James Russell Adcock

Mr. James Russell Adcock, of LaGrange, passed away on June, 29, 2020. Mr. Adcock was born on December 20, 1928 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late William Carlos Adcock and Verna Pinckard Adcock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Valeria Gay Adcock; brother, William Worth Adcock.

Survivors include his brother, Carlos Reed Adcock and his sister, Winnifred Elizabeth “Beth” Kramer (Ronald); extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm EST at the Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke, Alabama. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside.

Mr. Adcock proudly served his country in the United States Army and The United States Coast Guard. He was a 50 year member of the Coast Guard Reserve and a Korean War Veteran. Mr. Adcock was a certified private pilot and a certified ship captain, an avid hunter, fisherman and a member of the Troup County Sportsman Club. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Mr. Adcock had a long career as a Certified Public Accountant and was a partner in his firm, Smith and Adcock, CPA of Atlanta. He was a highly trained radio operator and will be remembered as a good friend to all.
