Mrs. Betty Louise Rollins Thornton, of LaGrange, passed away on February 27, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Sammie Rollins and Suejette Mallory Rollins. She was a member of the Four Oaks Church of Christ. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1945 and Southern Business University in Atlanta in 1946. She was employed at the Troup County Health Department for 2 years and at Sears for 40 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth Garrison; her son, Alfred “Fred” Morris Thornton and his wife, Melody; her grandsons, Michael Shane Thornton and Andy Todd Thornton; her granddaughter, Christy Nicole Watkins; her great grandchildren, Whitney Paige Thornton, Brittney Nicole Watkins, Charles Shane Thornton, and Zackary Luke Thornton; her great-great grandchildren, Olivia Irene Bentley and Tyler Aust Bentley; her sister, Shirley Jane Hall and her husband, Billy Hall.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thornton is preceded in death by her husband, Lucius “Luke” Aaron Thornton; her sister, Burnice Idolene Rollins; her brothers, Charles Desmond Rollins and Jerry Donald Rollins; her niece, Rhonda Rollins Hyatt; her nephew, T.J. Hyatt; her grand daughter in law, Nancy Mathews Thornton. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness in honor of Mrs. Betty Louise Rollins Thornton.
